Recently, a Music Producer that I know asked for a “lyric” video for a song that he had co-written with a talented local musician. The song was being performed on an American television music competition, and they needed a promo of the song to show with a quick turnaround. I was new to the concept but really enjoyed the mix of design, imagery and music.
Developed with Eastlink in 2016, and meant to be a precursor to a full series, a 90 minute special program was produced at Alderney Landing and aired in February, 2016 on Eastlink. This is a short promotional video to promote the finished program and the series concept.
The concept was created to introduce Atlantic songwriters to a broader audience, and was the brainchild of local musician Cecil McDougall, in collaboration with Frank Clifford, Bud Delaney and yours truly.
I have been a musician (guitar/vocalist) since the age of 9 and have been involved in many musical productions throughout my career. In editing, pacing and timing are inherently important and I believe that my love of music has helped form my love of editing.
It was a pleasure to direct/tech direct the segments, design the graphics and packaging elements and edit the final piece. Post production software used was Adobe Premiere. We were all very pleased with the final work. Unfortunately, lack of funding forced an early closure to the initiative.
